Dermal fillers are injectable products commonly used to refine and define facial features and improve the appearance of the skin. Their versatility makes them some of the most frequently requested cosmetic procedures at Pearl-Ereso Plastic Surgery Center. Dr. Ereso and our aestheticians use fillers by themselves or in combination with other surgical or non-surgical procedures for anti-aging purposes.
Dermal Fillers Benefits
Filler injections provide some of the benefits of facial plastic surgery without the time commitment or expense. A filler appointment generally lasts anywhere from 30 minutes to an hour and does not require extensive downtime. You can attend a filler appointment on your lunchbreak and resume your daily routine almost immediately afterward with few restrictions.
The results appear quickly and can last six months to a year (sometimes more!), depending on the specific product used.
Candidacy for Facial Fillers
Fillers may be appealing to you if you desire a younger, fresher appearance, but do not have the inclination to undergo surgery. When evaluating you for fillers, Dr. Ereso and Nurse Iwona will review your medical history, medications and allergies for safety purposes.
Common Treatment Areas
Fillers are commonly used for the following purposes:
- To plump up the cheeks, lips or temples
- To fill in fine lines and wrinkles around the nose, mouth and chin
- To define the jawline
- To create the illusion of higher cheekbones
- To smooth the skin around the sides of the mouth
- To fill in acne scars
- To correct asymmetry in the face
Which Filler Should I Choose?
Dr. Ereso and our aestheticians will review the available fillers with you, explaining what each can accomplish. Depending on your anatomical needs and treatment goals, we may suggest treatment using a single filler or combining two or more fillers.
Dermal Filler Options
Pearl-Ereso Plastic Surgery Center offers a complete range of FDA-approved dermal filler products. Every filler has a unique formulation and purpose.
Juvéderm
Products from the Juvéderm portfolio are some of the most popular fillers at our practice. Made with hyaluronic acid, Juvéderm is the perfect choice to restore suppleness and hydration to aging skin. We use Juvéderm to fill in wrinkles around the nose and mouth and plump shapeless lips and cheeks.
RHA®
Your face is dynamic, making millions of movements and micro-movements every day. Movements like squinting, frowning, laughing, and talking create dynamic wrinkles and folds. RHA® is designed to be resilient enough to adapt to your facial movement. RHA® 2, RHA® 3 and RHA® 4 are indicated for the correction of moderate to severe dynamic facial wrinkles and folds.
Restylane
Restylane products are other dermal filler mainstays that we commonly use for anti-aging purposes. Available in several formulations, Restylane can smooth out tear trough deformities, volumize the facial features or soften facial creases.
Radiesse
Radiesse contains calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres, which kickstart the body’s production of natural collagen. Over time, skin treated with Radiesse appears softer, smoother and more supple.
Sculptra
Sculptra triggers the natural production of collagen with a compound called poly-l-lactic acid. This filler offers the longest-lasting results of any product, with most patients enjoying their improvements for up to two years.
Facial Fat Grafting
If you are uncomfortable with injections of man-made substances, ask Dr. Ereso about using your own body fat to fill in wrinkles and shape your facial features.
DermaSculpt
Dr. Ereso uses a blunt-tip cannula called the DermaSculpt to create natural and flawless-looking filler results.
How to Prepare for Filler Treatment
Filler injections require very little preparation. Discontinue the use of any blood-thinning medications and avoid drinking alcohol in the days leading up to your appointment.
Risks/Safety
When administered by a qualified injector, dermal fillers are unlikely to cause lasting complications. For safety purposes, make your injector aware of any medications or allergies.
Complementary Procedures
Dermal fillers can be combined with BOTOX® injections for non-surgical, full-face rejuvenation. Also, fillers can complement the results of other procedures such as facelift or eyelid surgery.
Patient Reviews/Testimonials
“I must say that Dr. Ereso did an incredible job with my face!!! I’m not quite ready for a face lift yet, so he used fillers to add, lift, augment so many areas and honestly it was so natural that my children and my partner didn’t even notice. They said I looked rested. I am thrilled with the results and must compliment Dr. Ereso and his staff for their warmth, professional but fun attitudes, truly caring environment. You will be in excellent hands when going to see Dr. Ereso and his fantastic staff. Many thanks to them all!”
