Breast Implant Options for San Jose

Serving Mountain View & the Bay Area

As a breast augmentation candidate, you probably have an idea of what you want your breasts to look like after surgery. One of Dr. Ereso’s skills as a breast augmentation surgeon is helping his patients select the implants that will deliver the desired aesthetic outcomes. He respects your unique vision for your results and wants to help you make that dream a reality. Together, you and Dr. Ereso will review your implant options and pick the implants that are right for your case.

Breast Implant Size

Your final breast augmentation results will depend heavily on the size of the implants you select. However, picking the size of your implants is not as straightforward as saying, “I want C-cup breasts.” Bra cup size is not standardized among bra manufacturers, so it is an unreliable way to assess implant sizes. Plastic surgeons measure implants in cubic centimeters (or “cc’s” ).

When picking your implant size, consider your body type. Are you petite with a narrow torso, or fuller-figured with a wider chest? Dr. Ereso may take measurements during your pre-operative consultation to ensure your chosen implant size suits your frame.

Think about your lifestyle. Do you enjoy activities that involve running, jumping or bouncing? If so, large implants could impede your enjoyment of those activities.

Finally, what kind of result are you envisioning? Do you want a subtle, natural-looking boost in volume, or a dramatic transformation?

Implant Types

Implants are filled with a saline solution or silicone gel material. Most women prefer the look and feel of silicone implants to saline, but it is a very personal choice.

Something to be aware of when picking your implant type is how each type behaves in the very rare event of a leak or rupture. If a saline implant were to leak, the body would naturally absorb the saline solution and the breast would appear flatter or “deflated.” Leaked silicone gel remains in or around the breast pocket, making it more difficult to detect a problem.

Dr. Ereso can review each type of implant with you in more detail and help you decide what makes more sense for your needs.

Implant Shapes

Implant Choices for Mountain View, CAYou can choose from round or teardrop-shaped implants. A round implant provides equal projection and fullness to the top and bottom of the breasts. A teardrop implant has a slightly sloping contour with greater projection and fullness at the bottom. Dr. Ereso can recommend the implant shape that will work for you, depending on how much cleavage and breast fullness you want.

Incision Options for Breast Implant Surgery

Breast implants are placed through incisions encircling the areola or within the breast crease. Less commonly, a transaxillary incision (i.e., within the folds of the armpit) pattern is used.

The incision pattern Dr. Ereso uses during your surgery depends on several factors, including your chosen implant type. Saline implants can be filled after the shell is inserted into the breast pocket, thereby requiring smaller incisions. Silicone implants are pre-filled from the implant manufacturer and generally require slightly larger incisions. With the proper care and precautions, scarring along the incision lines should fade considerably over time.

Breast Implant Placement Options

Dr. Ereso positions breast implants in front of or behind the chest muscle. Your implant placement location depends on factors such as the amount of existing natural breast tissue and the type of implant you select.

Patient Reviews/Testimonials

“Last year I wanted to improve my appearance with my breast area after childbirth and breastfeeding totally left me with almost no chest. Then I found Dr. Ereso through online search and did the consultation and had the breast implant surgery. Dr. Ereso is a wonderful, thorough in explaining the procedures and process to make sure I understand everything including what to expect before and after surgery. He is pleasant and awesome and really did his best in helping me decide which size I would like. I love the “new” me after surgery and my confidence and happiness everyday onward from this surgery. His staff was amazing and supportive and friendly and the office always looks comfortable and clean and calm. I am going back to Dr. Ereso for another surgery in July once I have vacation time off from work. He did a great job on the breast implant and I feel comfortable to go back to him for a blepharoplasty in the next few months.”
