Usually 15-50 units of BOTOX® Cosmetic is typically injected with a tiny needle into the muscle that creates a wrinkle. When BOTOX® Cosmetic is injected into a muscle, it blocks the nerve impulse from reaching that area, and as a result, the muscle weakens. As the muscle weakens, the skin overlying the muscle relaxes and the wrinkles in the skin gradually soften and often disappear. Established furrows will be improved but will not be erased. A cream with local anesthetic will be placed on your skin prior to treatment, and ice will be immediately applied upon completion of your BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment.

Safety of BOTOX® Cosmetic
